Dear Calvary Chapel Miami:
“Then the Lord answered me and said: ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it’.” Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV
We are so excited to send you this communication because there is always so much to celebrate as we look back on what God does through Potter’s Field Ministries, year after year. His faithfulness goes beyond all understanding and continues to cultivate humility and gratitude in the hearts of our teams. For us, 2011 was a year of clarification. For the last 19 years, we have been following the mantra of “Where the God guides, God provides”. What we recently realized is that there is not just a financial resource that inures to those who follow God’s guidance; there is also a clarity that begins to take place as the pieces of His puzzle fall together in a divine tapestry.
We knew that God had placed high priority on our lives to extend our soul to the needy, feed the hungry, and make disciples in a “hands-on” way that has produced much more fruit than we could ever have imagined. That was not surprising. The surprise came as God began to clarify the bigger picture of where all our smaller steps of obedience were leading. With every call to action God has put in front of us, He has been- behind the scenes- orchestrating a unification of His resources. Rather than each individual church sending their own missionaries into the field and bearing the burden of support for that work, God is putting into the hearts of pastors across this country the vision to co-labor with us and one another to support missionaries together in the field with the resources of not just one church but many, just like the first church did in the book of Acts. With the unity of support, we are able to do much more together than any of us could do alone.
Over the last year as we have been on tour, Pam and I have witnessed a work of God that is nothing short of a revival in this country. From our vantage point, we see the altars of churches everywhere filled with people who are coming to know the Lord for the first time and those who are renewing their commitment to Jesus and their spouses. In these uncertain times that we live in, one thing has become quite clear- people are recognizing their great need for a great Savior and lives are being transformed forever.
On the home front, Potter’s Field Ministries, through IGNITE Mission Training School, sent 21 interns overseas who served the equivalent total of 66 months in the foreign field. On the international front, PFM was thrilled to launch a Potter’s Field Kid’s program in Kenya, where we came along side a mission plant by one of our strategic partner churches, Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, Washington. Crossroads was also instrumental in sending seven of their youth to our IGNITE program, who were part of the 21 interns who served in the field, some of whom helped launch the PFK program in Kenya on January 7, 2012. The team was blessed beyond measure as they were expecting 100 children but 200 showed up and the church in Kenya doubled in size the next day as parents of the children came to visit. There is too much to mention in this brief summary of 2011, but we hope you will visit our website where you can read and subscribe to the monthly newsletters that contain all the pictures and stories from the past year (www.pottersfield.org). You can also visit our Facebook page for more stories and videos at www.facebook.com/pottersfieldministries.
As a supporter of this ministry, you have played a significant part in the divine orchestration of events. That’s why we realize that with every decision that needs to be made, with every new door of opportunity that God opens, with every new intern that God brings to our doorstep, your prayers and financial support are invaluable and indispensable in accomplishing God’s goal to transform lives forever in 2012. May the Lord grant you the heart and faith to run with us as we carry out the vision He has made plain.
‘Til the Whole World Hears,
Pastor Michael and Pam Rozell
