From Pastor Shadrack Mwonga, Bible School student since 2005 and DSM Bible School Instructor since 2012. He is pastor of 8 churches. His main church is, Pipeline slum.

The greatest effect of this ministry has been and continues to be this:

1. It has caused pastors to Study and Cherish the Word of God.

2. It has caused Churches to become Bible Teaching churches.

3. The congregation members are now Studying the Word of God themselves.

The bottom line is this: The Spiritual Maturity of Pastors and Ministry Leaders coming out of the Bible Schools has led to the maturing of the members. Pastors can now teach spiritually mature matters. We are no longer tickling their ears or feeding them mere milk.

Now there is something else I want to emphasize concerning this Bible School Ministry. Bible Schooling is expensive in Kenya. There is not a Bible School in this country that costs less than 100, 000 ksh ($1,200). DSM Bible institute charges a token fee of 500 ksh ($6) per semester, or $36 for a Diploma. What does this mean? This Ministry has given a seat to Pastors who are otherwise not invited to Study the Word of God.

Ministry Prayer Requests:

-Harvest Workers

-Open doors for Third Bible School

-Deliverance of our Students from False Doctrines

-Encouragement and Assistance

-Health and Healing

Living in Christ Ministries is a ministry of discipleship to the body of Christ. One of the ways the LORD has allowed us to minister is via the LICM radio broadcast carried on various stations across the country. Recently, the door has opened the door for further ministry through OnePlace.com, which will allow us to reach many more lives here at home and around the world. We invite you to pray along with us that the LORD will use this new opportunity of ministry to bring glory to His name and to bear much fruit.

“…shall we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants…that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate.” Joseph’s brothers are pleading for their lives in these verses, to the point of selling themselves & all their possessions- it is a sweet picture of what must be done in our own lives. In order to live, we must give our possessions, lives, and decisions to the Lord. We are not our own, we have been bought with a price; we are to be slaves of a perfect Master.

A Week in the Jungle

After arriving at Costa Rica and spending a calm Saturday with the Sanchez Family, we got ready to head into the Jungle on the following day. We woke up that morning to find one of the cars not working properly after another one of the cars had already been repaired from a busted hose that morning as well. So we prayed and went on our way. Half way through our 4-5 hour drive, one of the brakes of that same truck got stuck. Again we prayed and continued. All the car problems stayed fixed long enough for us to reach the next stage of our journey; God is good. So, we loaded all our supplies into a boat and headed down the river to La Barra where we spent one night before heading to the church in Jobo. Our task in Jobo was to pour a cement floor to replace the original wood floor that was rotting.
The team consisted of 10 of us from Calvary Miami, plus Carlos, Raisa, Chrystel, Vanessa, and Liani Sanchez, Andrew a.k.a. Bondo, two other missionaries from Costa Rica, Pastor Orville (from the church on the north side of La Barra and also the one who planted the church in Jobo), and three Costa Ricans (or Ticos as they say) who worked with pastor Orville.

We arrived in Jobo on Monday after another boat ride and a 2 hour hike through the jungle. No time was wasted and we immediately began working. It was a full day of deconstructing the walls of the church, leveling the floor of the church, hauling sand, mixing concrete and beginning to pour the concrete. We saw how God taking care of the details since the space that was left under the roof of the church building after pouring the first two slabs of concrete was exactly the right amount of space to fit the tents and hammocks for that night. Tuesday was a very long workday which began with waking up at 4:30am to a choir of howler monkeys and birds. We hauled sand and rock from the river, mixed concrete, and poured concrete. By the end of the day we were done! The work was very hard and the days were very long, but neither hard work nor long days are what define this trip or missions in general. By Wednesday we boarded the church back up, made and hung the doors, and did the finishing on the concrete. That night we were able to have the first church service in the new building praying that this place was going to be a place where the people were able to glorify God together and have shelter from the floods and storms.

The men that work with pastor Orville are in the early stages of being discipled. The testimony of the servanthood of the team, as well as their willingness and intentionality to share the Gospel at any time allowed some on the team the unique opportunity to speak the truth of God into the lives of the men working with pastor Orville. In addition to these men, there were also many members of the church at Jobo that helped out in many different ways. The members of the team were also able to speak Gospel truth into the lives of some of the young men that attend the church, but still need guidance. It was great to see gospel seeds planted in some cases and seeds being watered in other cases. Everyone did their part and I ask that you pray with us for the seeds to continue to grow. We know that growth is given by God and God alone (1 Cor 3:6-7).

The concrete project was not merely a building project; it was also the answer to the devoted prayers of the woman who leads the church. She has been praying for this to happen for a very long time. Seeing her tears and that of her husband, Jose, was an incredible testimony of what this concrete floor means to the members of this church. As we circled up to pray for the church before leaving, Jose asked if he could say something to the team. In a tearful expression of his gratitude, we were able to see that the effects of this work were much deeper than our blisters or sore backs; God used this team to move people’s hearts to see the body of Christ in action.

After returning to the Sanchez household our work was not yet complete. It was time to prepare 45 chickens for dinners that evening to feed the other teams that will be coming this summer. We were taught how to kill, pluck and prepare the chickens. After four hours of hard work we had 40 chickens in the freezer and 5 chickens prepared to be fried.

It was a great to have the opportunity to work with so many people from different ministries and see God’s faithfulness. We were able to see prayers answered, hearts enlightened, and seeds planted.

Please be in prayer for:

The church in Jobo.

The seeds that were planted and watered.

The missionaries that stayed in Costa Rica and the team that returned to Miami as God continues to work in their lives. Specifically for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit and a continued reliance on God and His Word for nourishment each day.

When troubles come our way, our natural response is fear, panic and worry. However, the Word instructs us to seek God with all our heart, mind, and strength. (Jeremiah 29:10-13) Cast all your worries upon Jesus, for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7) Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds your understanding.

February 2013 Update

Gems from Dust

We are now offering 100 different books, which will open to you many aspects of the Jewish roots of our faith in Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.

The Youth Conference

This ministry is continuing and producing more and more spiritual maturity among the young people, who not only come to listen but also to be an active part in this weekend conference. What a joy and privilege to see the Lord at work in these young lives.

News of my health

After two consecutive RF Ablations on my liver, the doctors found that the result was very satisfying. A new ultrasound examination showed a fourth spot, and so I am called to enter the hospital today for a third Ablation. I look to the Lord for His complete cure. The side effects of the medication are bothering me more. But I have to wait for what the doctors decide about my continuing with the tablets.

By His grace I am still able to be in the Printing Press every day, and I minister to the Assembly as regularly as before. I am thankful for all the expressions of love I receive from the brothers and sisters here in Israe land from abroad. I’m especially thankful that they are holding me up in prayers before the Throne of Grace. He is still “Jehova my Healer” today. I am encouraged through the bonds of love, which were tied together on the Cross of Calvary.

Prayer Request

Pray for renewing strength daily.

Spring 2013 Update

Greeting precious brothers and sisters,

I praise God for each of you and what the Lord has done through your prayers and generous giving, truly its my privilege and honor to partner with you in this ministry. 2012 was packed with travel and opportunities to minister and seemed to speed by at lighting speed. 2013 is moving at an even faster rate and is just as full. In late November, early December, 2012 I taught at CCBC in Seigen, Germany for 3 days on discipleship. What a wonderful blessing to be with the students and staff as we looked at the call of God on the life of a disciple. I also had the privilege of speaking at a few churches. From there I traveled to CC Lippstadt to conduct a seminar on what the church is to be. The Lord really blessed our time. Pastor Rolf and wife Regina along with the body of believers there are such precious people.

In late December I led a multinational team to Cambodia to conduct 8 medical, dental, & eyeglass clinics in villages as a way to share the Gospel. What a great blessing to have part of our core team from the USA, Dr. Brian and Susan Nichols join up with 2 sisters from Mexico and 3 from Australia including pastor Ben from CC Sydney to minister to the people of Cambodia. We treated over 100 people and saw over 200 come to faith in Christ. We are planning a return in December 2013, pray about joining us.

Home for a week then off to Myanmar/Burma I went to speak at 2 Bible colleges. As many of you know I was to be there late last Fall but the Lord had other plans. The brothers told me a number of times of how my visit was a God send. They had become very discouraged and God used out time together to strengthen and encourage them to continue the fight. It is wonderful to trust and rest in the Lord knowing that He knows just what we need and when we need it.

In February my #3 son Jonathan and I traveled to Cuba t o be part of the annual pastor’s conference that CC Downey has put on for the last number of years. This year we had pastors from South America, Russia, Puerto Rico and Mexico, come and join in the teaching duties. The Lord brought nearly 600 pastors, wives and leaders to the first conference held at ‘Canan’ Bible conference center. It was a great blessing to serve these precious brothers and sisters. Afterwards part of the teaching group went to Havana while other of us went on a 5 hour drive to the east region Camajuay to conduct another pastor’s conference. The Lord greatly blessed this also as we taught expositionally through various chapters in the Bible.

In March my son Jonathan joined me again as we traveled to Cambodia for 12 days. We brought 15 underground Bible college students from China to join us for a time of training in evangelism and teaching. We used the Way of the Master evangelism training method and then took them out on the streets of Phnom Phen to witness to the nearly 30% of the population which is of Chinese decent. We also had class time everyday teaching through the book of Joshua. From your generous gifts we were able to purchase and take 10,000 Chinese “Are you a good person” tracts with us to use on the street witnessing. We had thousands of tracts left over and the Chinese students took them back to China with them and are now distributing them throughout China. Please keep them in prayer as they boldly proclaim the Gospel in a hostile land.

Prayer Request for future ministry opportunities:

April 10-22: Thailand teaching the IBS to 3 groups of pastors and leaders

May 9-13: Ministering at CC Cancun, Mexico

May 22-June4: Ministering in Jordan and Israel.

June 29th: My daughter Elizabeth’s wedding;

July: Ministering in Cuba

August 1-12: Teaching the IBS to pastors in the countryside of Cambodia and Bible school in Phnom Penn. We well bring 35 pastors from outlying villages to join me for this seminar, during which time food and lodging for 3 days will be provided for them. If you would like to partner with TWTW and contribute to the costs associated with this seminar, please note “Cambodia pastor’s lodgings” with the contribution.

Have you ever been in a situation where someone saw something that caught their attention so much that they had to stop what they were doing, gather everyone around them, and share what they just saw? This happens in the gospels as Jesus watches over the daily happenings at the temple. All of a sudden, something amazing catches His attention, He stops and gathers those around Him and says; “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury.” May all that we do be done “not with eye-service, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.” (Colossians 3:22). This catches God’s attention.
