Love Covers A Multitude of Sins

"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!" Galatians 5:14-15

In our fallen, human nature, we sometimes enjoy talking about others' problems.

Somehow, in our insecurities, to speak of others' wrongs even provides a false sense of closeness with the people with which we're gossiping. However, Galatians 5:15 warns us that if we bite and devour one another, we'll eventually consume ourselves.

Both the Old Testament and the New Testament clearly declare that sowing discord among the body of believers is something the Lord hates. It’s a good thing from time to time to check our hearts and our actions.

Are we, as Proverbs 10:12 shows us, letting love cover a multitude of sins?

"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins." Proverbs 10:12
